Perforated Window Graphics

Use your glass for branding while retaining a degree of through-vision with custom perforated graphics. MYC Graphics provides design, printing and installation for storefront and commercial window projects in Mississauga, Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Tell us how the space is used and what you want people to see from each side. We can review the glass, artwork, lighting and film options before confirming the project.

How perforated window film works

Perforated film combines a printed surface with small openings. Viewed from outside, the graphics can present a business name, promotional image or brand message. From the other side, the openings can allow a view through the film under suitable conditions.

The graphic coverage and openings work together, so the finished effect differs from both solid printed vinyl and uncovered glass. The film specification, image design and lighting should be considered as one application rather than selected independently.

One-way vision and privacy limitations

Lighting affects the appearance from each side. Conventional one-way effects can change when the interior becomes brighter than outside, so daytime screening should not be treated as a guarantee of privacy at night.

If privacy is essential, explain when and where it is needed. We can discuss whether perforated film is appropriate or whether frosted window treatments or another construction better fits the brief.

Where perforated graphics can fit

Storefront branding and promotions

Printed imagery can give a shop window a defined visual identity while preserving some through-vision. Keep the main message clear and plan coverage around entrance doors, handles, frames and other information on the glass.

Commercial window projects

Perforated graphics can form part of a wider window graphics plan. Review the use of the room, daylight, viewing angles and how the interior is lit before choosing the treatment.

Coordinated entrance signage

For a complete entrance update, coordinate the window image with storefront signs. Simple business hours or door details may be better presented using vinyl cut lettering alongside the larger graphic.

Design artwork around the panes and perforations

Small details and dense text may not read as intended on a perforated surface. Our graphic design team can help prepare a focused layout using suitable artwork and the final window dimensions.

  • Measure individual panes: provide width and height, with frames and gaps visible in photos.
  • Use clear artwork: supply vector logos and high-resolution images where possible.
  • Plan the crop: keep important details clear of doors, handles and frame divisions.
  • Review coverage: agree on the areas to be printed and those left uncovered.

The selected film determines the balance between printed surface and openings. We review the available product specifications around the intended result rather than applying one specification to every project.

Glass suitability and installation

Before production, tell us about existing tint, coatings, older graphics or damaged glass. Product compatibility, application side and any finishing requirements need to be confirmed for the actual glazing and location.

Our graphics installation team can discuss cleaning, removal of existing film, access and scheduling. Include window height and permitted work hours in the brief so the installation scope can be reviewed.

Care and future replacement

Follow the care guidance for the installed product, including the recommended time before cleaning. Use compatible methods, avoid scraping the graphic and take care around edges. Contact us about lifting or damage rather than applying aggressive cleaners.

If the graphic is for a temporary campaign, discuss the expected display period and removal requirements before material selection. Removal and any residue cleanup should be included in the project scope where needed.

Perforated graphics FAQs

What are perforated window graphics?

Perforated window graphics use printed film with small openings across its surface. They combine an outward-facing image with a degree of through-vision. The result depends on the film specification, artwork, viewing position and lighting conditions.

Does perforated film provide privacy at night?

Do not assume continuous privacy. Conventional one-way effects depend on lighting on each side of the glass and can change when the interior is brighter after dark. Explain when privacy is needed so the product and location can be assessed.

Can I still see outside through the film?

Suitable perforated film can allow a view through its openings, but it changes the view and is not equivalent to clear glass. Visibility depends on the product, lighting and viewing distance. Review the proposed construction against the needs of the space.

Is perforated film the same as frosted film?

No. Perforated film uses openings to combine a printed graphic with through-vision. Frosted film creates a diffused or etched-glass appearance and is used for different screening and decorative goals. The appropriate choice depends on the application.

Can you print my logo and product images?

Yes. We can discuss a layout using your logo, images and message. Supply vector logos and high-resolution artwork where possible. Bold imagery and clear text should be planned around the pane dimensions and perforated surface.

Can perforated graphics be installed on any glass?

Glass compatibility needs review. Existing coatings, tint, films, damage and the proposed application side affect suitability. Send photos and available glazing details before the material and installation method are confirmed.

Can perforated window graphics be removed?

Removal depends on the film, adhesive, age, glass condition and previous treatments. Residue or additional preparation may be involved. Discuss the expected display period and future replacement needs before choosing the product.
