Paint Protection Film

Help protect your vehicle’s finish from everyday road wear with paint protection film (PPF). MYC Graphics provides 3M PPF installation in Mississauga for drivers across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Choose coverage around the areas you want to protect, from exposed front panels to other suitable painted surfaces. Send us your vehicle details and priorities to discuss a practical option.

What is paint protection film?

Paint protection film, often called a clear bra, is a transparent protective film applied over suitable painted surfaces. 3M describes its clear PPF as polyurethane film designed to help protect against stone chips, scratches and certain contaminants. The specific film and finish should be confirmed when your project is quoted.

PPF can help preserve the appearance of the paint beneath it, but it is not a substitute for paint repair. It will not remove existing chips, stop established corrosion or make a vehicle immune to damage. Surface condition, application quality and ongoing care all matter.

Choose PPF coverage around your vehicle

Start with where and how you drive. Highway commuting, road debris and frequent use can expose certain panels to more wear. We can discuss coverage based on the vehicle’s shape, condition and your priorities rather than assuming every vehicle needs the same package.

  • Front bumper: a common area to consider for exposure to road debris.
  • Hood and front fenders: discuss partial or fuller panel coverage and the expected location of film edges.
  • Mirror caps: suitable painted mirror surfaces may be included in the plan.
  • Other exposed areas: ask about panel suitability and available coverage for your vehicle.

Before ordering, confirm exactly which panels and sections are included. Coverage, seams and visible edges can vary with the vehicle and installation approach.

Paint protection film installation and preparation

Installation begins with a review of the vehicle and the proposed coverage. Tell us about existing damage, prior paintwork, ceramic coatings, waxes or older film. These details help determine what preparation or additional assessment may be needed.

The surface is cleaned and prepared before the film is positioned using an appropriate application solution. The installer works around panel contours and edges to achieve the intended fit. Ask about expected edges and seams so you understand the finished result before work starts.

We confirm the scope and scheduling for your vehicle during quoting. Preparation needs and panel complexity affect the work involved; a single fixed installation time would not suit every project.

PPF, colour-change wraps and vehicle graphics

Choose the service around your main goal. PPF focuses on paint protection, while colour-change wraps focus on appearance. Vehicle wraps and graphics can add business branding, and vehicle decals suit smaller graphic applications.

If you want more than one film application, discuss the complete plan first. Compatibility, product choice and installation order need to be reviewed for the proposed combination.

Caring for paint protection film

Follow the instructions for the exact film installed on your vehicle. Allow the recommended time before washing, choose compatible products and avoid abrasive compounds. Take care around film edges when cleaning and contact the installer about lifting, staining or impact damage.

Paint protection film FAQs

What does paint protection film help protect against?

Paint protection film adds a protective layer over painted surfaces to help reduce damage from stone chips, light scratches and certain road contaminants. It cannot prevent every impact, dent or scratch, and it does not repair damage already present in the paint.

Which parts of my vehicle can be covered?

Common areas include the front bumper, hood, front fenders and mirror caps. Other exposed areas may be considered after reviewing the vehicle. Share your make, model, year and preferred coverage so we can confirm a suitable application.

Can PPF be installed on a used or repainted vehicle?

The paint condition needs to be assessed first. Existing chips, scratches, corrosion or failing paint are not corrected by film. Tell us about previous repairs, refinishing or coatings so we can discuss preparation and whether the surface is suitable.

Is paint protection film the same as a vehicle wrap?

PPF is primarily intended to help protect painted surfaces. A colour-change or printed vinyl wrap is primarily used to change appearance or add branding. Tell us whether your priority is paint protection, a new colour or business graphics so we can discuss the appropriate service.

How long does paint protection film last?

Service life depends on the specific film, exposure, driving conditions and care. Manufacturer warranty terms also vary by product. Ask us to confirm the film being quoted, its current warranty details and any registration requirements before installation.

How should I care for my vehicle after PPF installation?

Follow the care instructions supplied for the installed film, including the waiting period before washing. Use compatible cleaning products and avoid abrasive polishing or directing pressure-washer spray at film edges. Contact us if an edge lifts or the film is damaged.

Can paint protection film be removed?

PPF can be removed, but the approach should account for the film age, condition and underlying paint. Professional assessment is especially important for repaired, repainted or deteriorated surfaces. Discuss removal with an installer rather than pulling the film off yourself.

How much does paint protection film cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle, panel shapes, coverage area, film selection and preparation required. Send your vehicle make, model, year, photos and preferred coverage for a tailored quote and confirmation of the installation schedule.
